Posted in music on August 29, 2009 by moomooAll the hype around new ‘IT’ girl Peaches Geldof got me thinking about her cool parents, Bob Geldof and Paula Yates. Being from Ireland myself I have a certain nostalgic pride for Bob Geldof and his band the Boomtown Rats (6 lads from Dun Laoghaire Ireland). The name “Boomtown Rats” comes from a gang in Woody Guthrie’s autobiography, Bound for Glory. This video looks like it’s from Top of the Pops. Awesome song…
Koop – Koop Island Blues

All the drums, strings, horn sections and choires are actually from thousands of small clips from records. The only thing not sampled are the vocals. Interesting idea, excellent song.
